Meet Rita: ReMinkie Memory Bears is a company I created when my dear mother’s mink stole went from her closet to mine. Remembering her at happy occasions proudly wearing her stole made it impossible for me to part with it. The stole hung in my closet never worn for many years. I realized my daughter would never wear the fur, so I combined my background in art with my desire to create a keepsake in honor of my mother and created my first ReMinkie Bear out of my mother’s fur. After my friends saw my unique bear they asked me to recycle their furs into special heirlooms too—and ReMinkie Memory Bears was born!

Although we began ReMinkie Bears recycling fur into teddy bears, our customers began requesting bears made from other things that were dear to them. Now we create bears from sports jackets, shirts, coats, dresses, baby blankets, police and firemen uniforms, army uniforms, wedding dresses, robes, college and high school jackets – anything that is meaningful to you. When a customer requested a bear made from her husband’s neckties, we created the first ReMinkie Necktie Bear. Now many of the Necktie Bears live across the USA, perpetuating the memory of a beloved husband or father.
